Dark Castle 100% Completed Hard No Damage Megadrive

No-commentary gameplay of Dark Castle. Hard difficulty. US Version. Megadrive/Genesis. Played with Gens, no tools, cheats, autofire, re-recording or save states were used. HALLOWEEN SPECIAL. Although I already knew this game, it was the Angry Videogame Nerd's last episode what made me do this run. I must say that the game is not as bad as he says (well...). He is a showman and he must remark all the bad aspects of the game to make fun. The control is hard but not completely unresponsive, and you must enter the doors in a specific order to pick up some items that will make the game a lot easier. This game was released first for Macintosh in 1986 and is quite famous. There are 2 sequels (Beyond Dark Castle and Return to Dark Castle), and even a remake called Color Dark Castle. All of them are exclusive for Mac except the two first games. The first one was released for a lot of systems and the second one for Apple IIGS, C64 and Amiga, as well as Mac. The game is a mixture of platform and adventure game. The controls are similar to Prince of Persia, but we use the mouse to aim with the arm. That's why the control is so hard in Megadrive, because there's no mouse to aim, and you must press up and down. And well, there are many strange things that make the game hard. Everything can kill you with one single hit, except bats and rats (which deplete your number of elixirs until you die). If you jump into a staircase you die too. If you fall from a certain distance you get dizzy for a while. The enemies appearances are random and infinite (for rats, eyes, birds and guys) The gameplay is set on hard, this means more enemies and they recover sooner. You can beat the game in a few minutes just entering the Black Knight door and killing him, but on hard this is quite difficult to achieve as more gargoyles appear and you need the fireball to kill them. I'm showing you the whole game and the path you should follow in order to beat the game without too much problems. You should get the shield first and then the fireball (which kills enemies permanently ). Do not enter the first door, it takes you to Trouble 1, and that makes no sense, as it's the exit if you fall into a pit. I also did the Trouble stages in purpose, just to show all stages, but there's no need to go there. That's what you have to do if you fall into a pit. If you fall there before getting the fireball you won't probably get out of there alive (in hard at least). Well, it's not a very good game, but it's not as bad as the Nerd says. I enjoyed playing it and it wasn't frustating at all. I will probably try to do Beyond Dark Castle in the future :)
