Full game longplay of Return of the Phantom, a 1993 thriller, point 'n' click adventure game, based on the 1910 novel Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. This here is the DOS CD version, with fully vocalized dialogues between the characters, played on a DOSBox. Played on the Challenging Difficulty, which is the standard one I believe. The Easy one just spawns more quest items that need to be gathered either way, and shortens the catacombs fragments. The game gets quite, uhhh, "Dark Seed"-like at the very end for a moment, I immediately saw the connection. If my Dark Seed 1 & 2 longplays are up to your tastes, I'd guess this game here is the closest you get to see similar art design. (even if only at the end of the game, and for a very brief moment) The Palais Garnier is in the midst of the world premiere of Don Juan Triumphant when the enormous chandelier adorning the domed ceiling of the auditorium plunges into the middle of the stalls and kills several members of the audience. The player takes the role of Raoul Montand, a detective from the Sûreté and patron of the Opera.
