Extend is the best version of Continuum Shift as it contains everything from the previous game along with the three DLC characters and a new character called Relius. In addition to this there are balance changes, new story modes and more. The game is famous for having two gameplay modes in one. For the most part it plays like a 2D fighter, but should the player reach the hidden boss in arcade mode, it switches to a Gradius style shoot 'em up, only your ship is slow and stupid and can't actually fire back.
