Axel's Magic Hammer - Atari ST / STE

In this video, Axel's Magic Hammer, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Gremlin Graphics. Like all the classic damsel in distress arcade style games, Axel's fiance Lucy has been kidnapped and this time the bad guy is nothing less than a vicious green dragon; obviously we take control of Axel and we must rescue her girlfriend with the aid of a magical upgradable hammer. On our mission we will find many types of enemies, bonuses, secret areas, energy boosts and other collectibles. The game has gorgeous polished graphics, mixed with nice sprites, digitized sound fx and a non-existing scrolling that doesn't amper the playability. In fact Axel's Magic Hammer is enjoyable and also challenging if not hard to complete glueing you to your chair for hours. Here you'll find intro and gameplay of first level.
