Victorious Boxers Revolution: Story Mode - Makunouchi vs Date

Playing on normal difficulty - where opponents aren't too tough to hold back on to try fish about for story cutscenes, but won't blow over from 2 or 3 punches. Ippo's challenge for the Japanese national title, against the veteran Eiji Date. This fight can be annoying to get the story on - knock him around too hard and if the game thinks he's about to take a finishing blow it'll trigger the end cutscene. This can mean towards the end of a long war, or in round 1 if you wail on him after knocking him down twice already lopsidedly. It doesn't help in the average fight I was getting to that point in round 2, which would hardly the climatic showdown this fight deserves. So I have to hold back, and allow some hits to get through.
