I am your host Lord Fenton In this first part of Ultima V walkthrough let's play video, I will show you the long version of the intro cutscene to basic character creation, how character transfer from Ultima IV works with the fix from Pix's patches and to finally starting out at Iolo's hut. It is time to go back to Britannia to stop Blackthorn and the Shadowlords from total control of the realm. This time around I am using Pix's Ultima Patch. I cannot link it here since YouTube hates links from other websites like it. Instead just google Pix's Ultima Patch. It will help with the issues the Good Old Game Version had with character transfer from Ultima IV, adds music from the Apple version and plus any other fixes. Yes I did love the cutscene. The patcher did add the music from the Apple version. The reason I am really using it since the GoG version had issues transferring from Ultima IV to Ultima V. Pix's Ultima Patcher fixes this issue. Yes I am going the transfer route. Use my timestamps on what stats you do gain from character creation part of the walkthrough for those going that route. Why I am using Pix's Ultima Patcher this time - 1:21 The Long story version - 1:50 Menu Options - 18:37 If you did Create New Character here is what goes on - 19:14 Note: It is just like Ultima IV MINUS the virtue you pick is your class. Instead each round you pick a virtue you get it's stat gains. I've read 20 str is the lowest you can get even if you pick no str at all. Just pick the virtue benefits you OR your own personal style. This part is for people not doing the character selection. Transfer Character from Ultima IV - 21:45 Note: First your str, dex and int cap is now at 30. If you do this you get all three stats at 25. Your exp drops from 9,999 to 999. It means you are level 5. The level cap is level 8. This means only 3 levels to go. I will talk more about karma and exp later for this game. If you play Ultima IV and do this, it is kind of like a very nice edge you do get verses character creation.
