The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (Game Boy Color) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Nintendo's 1998 adventure game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. In the lead up to the release of the new Switch remake, I thought I'd go back and refresh my memory of the game by playing the Game Boy Color rerelease. The original and the DX releases were virtually identical beyond the colorization, the short bonus dungeon, and the photographer, so it seemed silly to repeat myself all over again here. You can find my playthrough of the Switch version here:    • The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Swi...   In this video I got all of the heart pieces, the level 2 sword, and I do the GBC-exclusive color dungeon. I also got the best possible ending by not dying during the game. The DX upgrades were pretty neat. The game looks great in color (it looks like an NES game!), and the new bonus dungeon was a cool inclusion, even if it feels a bit tacked in with its weak sauce design. The remixed music from the original Legend of Zelda was a cool touch, though. Beyond that, Link's Awakening was just as good on the Game Boy Color as it was on the Game Boy, and it's one of the best games you could play on either machine.
