Hoo boy, this boss is definitely one of the tougher ones in the game and probably one of the most complex in behaviors as well. His stats are among the highest of the enemies in the game, and he just hits really damn hard. He also has the most amount of life out of all the enemies in the game, but that's really to facilitate his main mechanics. Takehaya, being half human and half dragon, has 2 different "modes" he can be in. Human mode, and Dragon mode. He starts off the battle in human mode. In this state he takes double damage from physical attacks, and half damage from elemental attacks. When he uses Dragon Blood, he'll instead take half damage from physical attacks, and double damage from elemental attacks. (Non-elemental attacks such as Mana Bullet or Triple Kiss entirely ignore this gimmick.) When he casts Human Blood, he'll just go back to his human state. He does count as a dragon type enemy, so if you cleared out the Bloom around the central island, he'll be severely weakened and take even more damage, not to mention ailments will be easier to land. While in Human Mode, he can use magical attacks and heal himself up for quite a bit. The exception being Rush Edge. And while in Dragon Mode, he'll namely cast physical skills. However he's also a bit constrained by the RNG. He can't swap modes unless the RNG decides to let him cast a specific sequence of moves. If RNG is unkind to him, he can't swap. For him to swap to Dragon Mode, he needs to cast Freeze then Blizzard, which has a 24.5% chance of happening on those 2 turns. Then he'll cast Dragon Blood. While in Dragon Mode, he needs to Cast Gather Power, then Megaheadbutt for him to swap back to Human Mode, which has a 22.5% chance of happening. SA Thread: LP Beach Thread: LP Zone Thread:
