CATIO - Улучшения через 1 год

It's been almost a year since I created CATIO. I found a few things that need to be improved, so I made this video. Zip ties For the first year, it's almost no problems. only a few ties were broken. However, as many of commented, after 2 or 3 years its not sure it will be ok. so i decided to change zip ties to wire. i will change it in the next video. Raising the bottom The shape of my balcony is distorted before i made catio, and puddles of water are formed on rainy days. So, during the rainy season, the wood was always soaked in water and mushrooms grew on it. Therefore, I put plastic sticks underneath to raise the bottom. Wood is not keep getting soaked anymore. I used something in the form of a plastic rod that I found at shop. i don't know what is this. It looks like something you would put a cable through to protect it. Paint I used BRIWAX as the paint for the wood part, but I recently found out that it is not good for outside! I repaint twice in the past year, but I thought it would be like this. This time, I decided to use a natural nature-based paint that is water-resistant and safe. It is also highly durable and makes the most of the wood grain. I choose this. Q & A Q1: Why don't you cover the whole balcony with netting? A:because we japanese used to dry blancket(futon) on the balcony. Q2: put bird feeder on the balcony!cat will be fun! A: one of the reason I made the CATIO is to keep the birds away. I hire cats as balcony guards. We had a lot of sparrows and they were pooing on our laundry, which was a problem. Q3: Why didn't you put anything on the floor when you painted wood white? A: I didn't bother because I was planning to replace the floor. I replaced the floor in the next video after the last CATIO video.
