The Work on the harmonious development and inner realization of human beings requires such contrasting qualities as uncompromising principle and easy character, discipline and spontaneity, clarity and bravery. Each person discovers it for himself completely anew. There are no simple instructions for the Work, so it is incumbent for us to be attentive toward ourselves, guarding ourselves against mechanical rituals and dogmas.It is impossible to define the Truth, one can only indicate at it and move towards it on an individual basis. The Truth is greater than any words to the same extent that the sublime mystery of the majestic heights is greater than colorful pictures in a tourist’s guidebook. Two short films of Alexander Babushkin and Arkady Rovner “Seven Cows” and “A Bucket of Water”, similarly to two facets of the purest crystals, convey to the viewer the mysticism of the inner work of those who are set upon the beauty and majesty of Mount Elbrus – one of the most mysterious places on Earth. The films present the opportunity of participating directly in the spiritual practices of the Institute for the Cultivation of Inner States founded in the last decade of the 20thcentury by mystic philosopher and writer Arkady Rovner.
