This is my latest Best Ending speedrun of the North American version of Mighty Bomb Jack (originally for the NES, though I played it on Wii Virtual Console), and is an improvement of 27 seconds over my previous record. I start timing when I press Start on the title screen (signified by Jack beginning his descent into the pyramid) and end when the screen transitions to the ending screen outside the pyramid. Without going into extreme detail, this large improvement comes from three sources: 1) Learning that holding Down causes Jack to fall slightly faster (thanks for making my thumb hurt even more, Stewy!) 2) Cutting out a time consuming Mighty Coin pickup in Round 12 with the help of careful counting of jumps, and 3) Overall better Mighty Coin management in the final stage Besides the glaring 1 second error in Round 5's Royal Room, a sloppy jump in the Princess Room that probably cost a half second or so, and a few seconds lost to poor luck with enemy movements, this run feels pretty much perfect. I'm happy I finally got it after 400+ counted attempts and who knows how many uncounted attempts. I intend to edit my notes into a document describing the route in detail in the next couple days, just in case anyone would like to learn the route for themselves and understand why I did certain things. When I finish it, I will edit a link to it here. Finally, I'd like to apologize to my loyal stream watchers for again getting the run offstream.
