Swarovski Habicht 8x30 | Fernglas | Binoculars | бинокль

Manufacturer: Swarovski, Wattens (Tirol - Austria) Application: Civil Era: 1980s (?) Magnification: 8x Objective Lens Size: 30 mm Field of View: 8.5° - 150m at 1000m Specifics: The Habicht 8x30 is manufactured by Swarovski since the 1950s and is available in the latest version until today. This is somewhat remarkable because even the latest version is still in the classic Porro design (which of course makes collectors like me happy). Since Swarovski does not publish serial numbers, it is somewhat difficult to date their binoculars. The Swarovski binoculars from the 1950s and 1960s still have the old cursive lettering. The binocular seen here probably dates from the 1980s, possibly even the 1970s. The very good condition is a bit deceptive here. Characteristic of these binoculars is the deep blue coating and the clearly noticeable yellow tint of the image. Even though some people may find this feature annoying, the yellow tint can be an advantage, especially in very bright surroundings, such as a snow-covered landscape. As you can see from the video, the image produced by the binoculars is excellent. Unfortunately, it often happens with older Habicht models that the paint has peeled off, which doesn't look very aesthetic. On the other hand, the optics are usually very well preserved and problems with foggy prisms, as occurs with well-known other manufacturers, are almost non-existent. What you also need to know about the Habicht 8x30 is that there are different FOV versions. This model is the wide angle version with 150m at 1000m. There is also the version with 123m at 1000m, which is sometimes marked with the letter N (N for normal). The latest "W" versions have a field of view of 136m at 1000m.
